AIR FORCE ACADEMY -- For the second time in eight days, a cadet has been sent to prison in an Air Force Academy crackdown on drug use within its ranks.
On Wednesday, 20-year-old sophomore Barton A. Duvall of Durango pleaded guilty to using LSD once and then lying to investigators about it. He was sentenced to five months in prison, forfeiture of all pay and benefits and dismissal from the service.
Duvall admitted to the judge, Lt. Col. Steven Hatfield, that he was offered LSD and took it during a party in a private residence on Dec. 9.
