FORT COLLINS -- Poudre's girls basketball team might not be champs in the Class 5A Northern League, but when the state playoffs begin next week, the Impalas will feel a little better about themselves.
That's because Poudre upset city rival Fort Collins, the state's top team in 5A, 56-39 at home Friday.
Fort Collins already had beaten Poudre on the Lambkins' home court and already had clinched the league crown. Fort Collins has been ranked No. 1 since beating now No. 2-Highlands Ranch in December.
