Two powerful people - the incumbent town chairman and the Plan Commission chairman - are battling to head Dunkirk's Town Board through 2003.
Both incumbent Jerry Sellers and Plan Commission Chairman Jeff Bradley say they would work to slow growth and maintain a sense of country. Dunkirk is located southeast of Stoughton, just north of the Dane-Rock county line.
"I'd like to keep the town of Dunkirk a kind of country community. I want to try as well as I can to maintain the quality of life here," said Sellers. "And I would like to think we've done a very, very good job in keeping our taxes down while maintaining the quality (of life) here."
