Once again the parents of this nation were forced to hold their collective breath. The two words that bring fear were spoken again: ''School shooting.'' We felt the conflict of relief and pain because it wasn't here but children were dead and it could still happen here. . . .
And what did our state legislators do to react to this new tragedy? What was their immediate response to the violence, pain and fear?
