Construction began Monday on the area's first Health House, a home built according to American Lung Association specifications and designed to alleviate asthma attacks and allergy outbreaks.
The house in the Ashton Woods community of Miami Township is being built by Coffman Development Co. and lived in by company president Mark Stenger.
''A Health House reduces triggers for allergy and asthma attacks and allows me to build a very energy-efficient home,'' Stenger, whose son has asthma. ''And we feel it will make us different from other builders in the marketplace.''
