ATOFINA PETROCHEMICALS is a world-scale petrochemicals manufacturer with production facilities in Texas and Louisiana. The company, which was created in the merger of TotalFina and Elf, was formerly known in the U.S. as Fina Oil and Chemical Company. Fina had built a petrochemicals business with a strong manufacturing bias, based on world-scale plants and technologically advanced operations with refining synergies. Strategically, ATOFINA Petrochemicals' goal is to supply high quality, low cost polymer products to markets where it can command at least a 10% market share.
