Western Australia is now home to the most advanced pressure leaching piloting facilities in the world. This follows the commissioning last November of a new submarine autoclave pilot plant, shipped from Canada, at the Lakefield Oretest facility in Perth.
QNI/Billiton, which funded the design and construction of the equipment, wished to ensure that world-class testing facilities are available in Australia, thus facilitating the development of a number or nickel laterite projects in which it has an interest.
