Exotic, exquisite and unusual, orchids are the perfect gift to give someone who has everything.
Once thought to be plants for the wealthy or expert gardener, orchids are now affordable, and many require less routine care than houseplants.
In 289 B.C., a Greek named Theospharstus wrote a thesis in which he gave the orchid plant the name orchis, meaning testicle. Because a tuberous root often forms beside a plant that has flowered, he was convinced that a concoction made from the root would stengthen the libido.
