Musical notes
* Sunday Afternoon Live from the Elvehjem presents a free concert by Michael Kim, professor of piano at the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music, at 12:30 p.m. today. Kim will play selections by Bach, Beethoven, Gershwin and Mussorgsky.
* The Wisconsin Alliance for Composers' state conference takes place March 30-April 1 on the UW-Madison campus. The weekend will showcase 52 works by 43 member composers, including faculty member David Drexler, food science, and graduate student Elliott Goldkind.
