I know several people whose idea of paradise is a Chinese all-you-can-eat buffet. I don't share that sentiment because it seems to me that most foods taste like they've been vulcanized after they've been sitting in chafing dishes for a while. Still, I've been to enough Chinese buffets to be able to tell the good from the bad and downright ugly.

Peking Palace, in the space once occupied by Chinese International Gourmet adjacent to the Hilldale Theaters, is one of the better ones. It opened Feb. 1, after Sue and Wenbin Kuo bought controlling interest of the restaurant from Andy Chou. There are also regular lunch and dinner menus.
