WITCO EXPANDS PRODUCTION CAPACITY FOR ALUMINUM CHLORIDE
NEW YORK, May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Witco Corporation (NYSE: WIT) today announced that its Argus Division has completed the initial phase of a major expansion program that will significantly increase its manufacturing capacity of anhydrous aluminum chloride. This program reflects the company's commitment to meeting growing demand for aluminum chloride, especially by the titanium dioxide and pharmaceutical industries.
The first phase of the program, the debottlenecking and expansion of the LaPorte, Texas, and Brainards, N.J., production facilities, has already increased capacity by 25 percent.
