GOVERNOR OF ALASKA ANNOUNCES CLEAN-UP HOTLINE
JUNEAU, Alaska, May 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Gov. Steve Cowper today announced that Alaskans and other interested citizens can now call a 900 telephone hotline established by the Alaska Conservation Foundation to receive information about and help fund the Prince William Sound oil spill clean-up.
"We've received thousands of calls and letters in the aftermath of the spill," Cowper said. "Many of them include donations which the state is unable to accept. We are referring them to the Alaska Conservation Foundation. It's a worthy group which sees that conservation programs throughout the state get the money."
