Parents who rely on faith-healing instead of medicine for their critically ill children could face years in prison under a bill given preliminary Senate support Tuesday.
Stemming from the deaths of several youngsters who went without medical care, the bill wipes out an exemption in the law that makes it difficult to prosecute parents or guardians who practice faith healing.
