Mike Finch remembers when everyone considered the PC a techie toy that would never catch on for mainstream use. Now that mobile wireless devices are showing up in his network environment, he's not going to be fooled twice.
"When the PC first came out, IT departments basically said, 'It's a toy; it's never going to go anywhere,'" says Finch, director of mobile solutions at FinTech, an SAP reseller in Canada. "Well, the PC took off, and IT departments everywhere got caught with their pants down. The same thing is going to happen [with mobile devices]."
