WAUKESHA, Wis., May 9 /PRNewswire/ -- ABB Electric has won the 1989 Franz Edelman Award for Management Science Achievement. The relatively small firm, which employs 500, in a town 30 miles west of Milwaukee, has competed against such industry giants as IBM, AT&T, the Montreal Urban Community Transit Corporation, Hidroelectrica Espanola (one of the two largest utilities in Spain) and the Egyptian government to emerge as the top prize winner among seven finalists at the international competition in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
