NFO QUESTIONS CHEESE EXCHANGE TRADING PRACTICES
CORNING, Iowa, Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- National Farmers Organization dairy officials today announced their displeasure at recent trading activity on the Green Bay, Wis., National Cheese Exchange.
"It appears that certain traders are intentionally lowering the price of cheese at a time when limited stocks of cheese should be forcing the market price upward," NFO Dairy Director Al Scott pointed out. "Currently, both government and industry figures indicate the pipeline between cheese manufacturing plants and consumers is nearly empty."
