Jo-Ansie van Wyk considers the link between the lack of resources and development in Africa and indicates how resource and related issues could contribute to the destabilisation of the African continent.
The increased demand for resources for local, national and export markets, as well as escalating competition for the control of natural resources, have been a source of insecurity in the southern African region.
