Up until a couple of years ago, Robert H. Moskow made an excellent living in the apparel industry. He earned $200,000 a year selling linings and connective pieces to garment manufacturers, mainly in New York City. These days, the vice president of merchandising for Manhattan-based BTC II Ltd. makes do on far less. He expects his annual earnings to be down 70% from those glory days, to about $60,000, and he wants out of the industry that has employed him for 35 years. ``There used to be a lot more people talking on the street and making deals,'' Mr. Moskow says, gesturing up and down Seventh Avenue in the heart of the garment center. ``It's a changed business.'' ...
