Hawaii's loss appears to be Seattle's gain this Christmas.
No, we're not getting palm trees, warm crystal-blue surf and tropical waterfalls to bask in over the holidays.
But Seattle is close to stealing away the Jeep Oahu Bowl from Honolulu, an event that has been part of Christmas football doubleheaders since 1998. Its companion event, the Aloha Bowl, also is considering relocation to the mainland.
Seattle sports officials and those from the Pacific 10 Conference yesterday confirmed that Seattle is the likely city to take over the Oahu Bowl. The game will pit the Pac-10's fourth-place team and the No. 4 team from either the Big East or ...
