The Purple Parade at 10 a.m. Palm Sunday will begin the Holy Week for members of the First United Methodist Church of Glen Ellyn, 424 Forest Ave., Glen Ellyn.
Led by a live donkey, the Purple Parade will begin a week of events including a Seder Supper from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Maundy Thursday and a concert at 7:30 p.m. Good Friday featuring Chicago tenor Henry Pleas.
When the Rev. Bonnie Beckonchrist joined the church as senior pastor two years ago, she started a tradition of holding these events for the whole family during Holy Week.
