Apr. 4--WASHINGTON--Internet music file-sharing company Napster called on Congress Tuesday to adopt legislation forcing recording companies to make their music available online at a set fee, following months of failed efforts to strike music licensing agreements with record labels.
The recording industry and Napster have been battling in court for months, as the recording industry tries to clamp down on websites that allow consumers to download music for free. A federal judge last month issued a preliminary ruling against Napster, ordering it to block ...
