A Bulgarian wine range from the country's largest wine company will be backed by heavy-weight investment this summer.

Domaine Boyar is spending 500,000 [pounds sterling] in the UK on an advertising campaign for its Blueridge range which will run in May and June.

It includes TV ads on C4 and E4 and 48 sheet posters.

It launched the collection last summer and won listings in Waitrose, Sainsbury and Budgens.

Then the range consisted of a Cabernet Sauvignon and two styles of Merlot, pitched at a competitive 3.99 [pounds sterling] price point. It was also going to feature a Chardonnay but the plans were knocked back by a poor grape harvest. ...
