PRINCETON, N.J. Feb. 7 (UPI)
The estimated 30 million American men who suffer from erectile dysfunction may in coming years have a new treatment alternative -- a nasal spray that is being touted as a "turbo-charged nerve stimulator."
The drug is called PT-141 and it currently undergoing preliminary safety testing in healthy males.
Dr. Carl Spana, president and CEO of manufacturer Palatin Technologies, said if all goes well with the current safety study and later this year with dosing studies, "it will be ready to enter pivotal trials by the second quarter of 2002."
