Despite continuing cycles in chloralkali demand and pricing, key producers chart a steady future course.
Following inorganic acids and industrial gases, chlorine and caustic soda, the co-products that constitute the bulk of the chloralkali industry, make up the third-largest volume sector in the global chemical industry. Together, they account for a current (2001) annual output of roughly 90Mt. This is nearly three times the annual production value of soda ash, the third most important member of the immediate chloralkali family.
