Apr. 5--WFLA LEADER STEPS DOWN: Rick Rogala has resigned as president and general manager of WFLA-TV, News Channel 8. Rogala, 40, cited personal and family reasons in stepping down, effective at the end of April.
He joined WFLA in July 1999 and oversaw its relocation to downtown Tampa's News Center and the kickoff of coordinated news presentation with The Tampa Tribune and TBO.com. All three outlets are owned by Media General Inc. In March 2000, WFLA was named the most- watched TV station in the state by Nielsen Media Research.
