As the Colorado Rockies readied for opening day Tuesday, owners of bars and shops near Coors Field prepared for one of their busiest days of the year and wished the Rockies a long, victorious season.
``Expectations, at the store and amongst fans, are as high as for (the Rockies as) the Avs at the beginning of the season,'' said Scott Meyer, store manager of the Sportsfan sports-memorabilia store on 16th Street. ``It seems more people who weren't Rockies fans (before) have come out of the woodwork this season.''
