An acre parcel in East Price Hill is going to the birds.
Really.
The city of Cincinnati is preparing to turn over an acre of vacant property on Phillips Avenue between Considine and Hawthorne avenues to the Whittier Gardens Foundation for the creation of a bird sanctuary.
The city's department of neighborhood services this week sent an ordinance to City Council to turn the property over to the foundation, which is allied with the East Price Hill Improvement Association, for $1.
