One of the great convenience items of the past few years is the pre-baked flat-bread product focaccia. Buy it at supermarkets and top it as you will to create a savory bread to serve with your main course. Or get creative with toppings and make pizza plain or fancy.
Brush the focaccia with olive oil and sprinkle with fresh or dried herbs - crushed rosemary is good with meat dishes, Italian seasoning or oregano and a dusting of Parmesan or Romano cheese suits an Italian dish. Pop the focaccia into the oven and warm according to package directions, 10 minutes or so. Cut into wedges or strips and serve.
