TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Finally.

After weeks of sifting through the dregs of the Southeastern and Atlantic Coast conferences, Florida and Florida State will play each other - a 39-year-old rivalry with more riding on it than ever.

When Florida, ranked No. 1 in both major polls, plays at No. 2 Florida State at noon today, all of college football will be watching the crown jewel of a rivalry that has seen plenty of gems.

But this time, both teams are 10-0.

''It's a big game without adding anything to it, but this may be the biggest ever,'' Florida senior linebacker James Bates said.
