Cincinnati Ballet won't keep audiences waiting for the bonus ballet of its 1996-97 season.
The company will open its subscription series at the Aronoff Center for the Arts on Friday and Saturday with a $330,000 production of Balanchine's ''Jewels.''
''Jewels,'' a full-evening work composed of three ballets ''Emeralds,'' ''Rubies'' and ''Diamonds,'' ranks among the great Balanchine ballets and it features 40 dancers, the largest cast of adult dancers ever on the Cincinnati Ballet stage.
It will become the 13th Balanchine work in the company repertoire.
