Eighth-graders in Ohio's big cities are less likely to graduate from high school than their rural and suburban counterparts, a new report concludes.
State Rep. Mike Fox, R-Hamilton, chairman of the House Education Committee, asked for the analysis for use in a series of hearings he is holding on urban school systems. The report was sent Tuesday to school systems.
Among the findings:
Seventy-seven percent of students who were in the eighth grade five years ago graduated from high school in the same district on time. If the eight urban ...
