Local wildlife artist John Ruthven unveiled the last of his ''Cherished Young'' series of paintings at the WCET Channel 48 studios Tuesday evening, a gift to be auctioned at next April's Action Auction.
Reception chairwoman Joni Herschede introduced Ruthven to auction donors and volunteers and to members of WCET's Premier Club.
His painting depicts a mother skunk and her two babies gazing curiously at a Carolina wren; Ruthven suggested at the unveiling that guests save the black-and-white-painted souvenir clothespins in case they should ever encounter a baby skunk.
