ATLANTA -- Lenny Wilkens did not want to laugh, but you know how it is. Someone mentioned to him that an assistant coach from Lithuania had the gall, the audacity, the absolute lunacy to say that this U.S. basketball team might actually be vulnerable.
The U.S. coach, Lenny Wilkens, did not want to laugh.
He laughed really hard, though. Around him, players Shaquille O'Neal and Gary Payton yukked it up as well. The whole thing became a real laughfest, a Seinfeld episode, a Richard Pryor comedy album. Imagine, somebody saying that the United States basketball team is vulnerable. What a knee slapper.
