After having a nine-game winning streak and the first top 10 Associated Press ranking in school history, the No. 8 Virginia Tech Hokies (12-2 overall, 5-1 Atlantic 10) hit the skids Thursday night, losing to George Washington, 64-47, in an Atlantic 10 game.
George Washington allowed 37 percent shooting from the field. It was the fourth victory in a row for the Colonials (10-4, 4-1) over a top 10 opponent.
NO. 4 CONNECTICUT 69, PITTSBURGH 63 - Connecticut (18-1, 8-0 Big East), tied a school record with its 17th consecutive win. Ray Allen had 14 points on 5-of-15 shooting vs. Pitt (8-7, 3-4).
