Faye Dunaway provides some illumination on acting in her memoir, ''Looking for Gatsby'' (Simon & Schuster, $25), which she wrote with Betsy Sharkey. And she doesn't shy away from some occasional dirt: the married Marcello Mastroianni's daughter called Ms. Dunaway to personally beg her to resume her tempestuous two-year relationship with the actor because he was so desolate.
