BALTIMORE -- For children with mild to moderate asthma, daily use of inhaled corticosteroids clearly reduces disease severity with only a minor, transient effect on growth, Dr. Peyton A. Eggleston said at a meeting on pediatric asthma sponsored by Johns Hopkins University.
He reported on the results of the Childhood Asthma Management Program (CAMP) study, a trial involving eight medical centers in the United States and Canada in which more than 1,000 children with mild to moderate persistent asthma were followed for 4-6 years.
