Three separate fires, believed the work of an arsonist, caused $1 million in damage to Cincinnati's nationally known School for the Creative and Performing Arts overnight.
Classes were canceled indefinitely.
''We have an arsonist,'' District 1 Fire Chief John Zompero said, noting that the bulk of the fire was in the auditorium.
The fire is an especially cruel blow because the district, already struggling to make ends meet, has a $1 million deductible on its fire insurance policy.
