For a moment, some of the 35 students who had gathered at dawn outside the arson-ravaged School for Creative and Performing Arts Friday considered canceling their long-planned trip to Washington, D.C.
''They were very upset and concerned. Some said maybe they shouldn't go,'' said an exhausted Principal Rosalyn England. She had spent the night at the school with fire investigators after three fires were discovered around 11 p.m.
''I told them no, this is the time to move ahead, to do the job and do it well. This (fire) should be an incentive to let people know we care about our school ...
