"FEEDING THE VOLUNTEER SPIRIT" A MONUMENTAL TASK
DENVER, Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Imagine: 12,000 candy bars, 7,200 fruit, 1,000 loaves of bread, 400 pounds of coffee, 300 pounds of seafood, 1,600 six-packs of soda and 5,520 pounds of cold cuts.
That, for starters, is what it takes to feed the more than 1,200 volunteers who are clocking races, chauffuering athletes, directing traffic and doing hundreds of other necessary jobs during the two weeks of the 1989 World Alpine Ski Championships.
