LOS ANGELES_The Los Angeles Xtreme provided more relief for the Giants than Robb Nen, routing the San Francisco Demons, 24-0, on Saturday night to claim the XFL Western Division championship.
As a result, the Xtreme (7-3) earned the right to host a first-round playoff game April 15 and prevented the Demons (5-5) from playing another game at Pacific Bell Park this season. That's good news for the Giants, who no longer will have to worry about the Demons ripping holes in their field.
