On Ben Fajardo's last day as Glendale Heights village president, he didn't do that much talking.
That's because his peers did most of it for him.
At Thursday's village board meeting, local and state officials presented Fajardo with a virtual parade of proclamations and awards recognizing him as first Asian-American president in DuPage County and more than a decade of public service.
"Ben, we love you and we're going to miss you as a political leader," said DuPage County Board member Pamela Rion, a Bloomingdale Republican.
