Larkin's Clint Schambach had a big day as did many other Royals in a 12-4, 19-7 Upstate Eight Conference sweep of DeKalb Saturday in Elgin.
Schambach (4 hits, 5 RBI, 2 doubles) not only was the winning pitcher for Larkin in Game 1, but in Game 2 he connected for 2 solo homers in the third inning alone. The 2 home runs in the third inning ranks him as the 16th player to hit 2 home runs in a single inning in Illinois High School Association history.
