Apr. 9--FOND DU LAC, Wis.--Like many businesses in the self-serve niche, A to Z Vending and Service started as a one-man operation. In 1957, Ben Lindberg launched his small company from his North Fond du Lac home.
"He sold candy, soda, coffee and cigarettes," said Jim Hoffman, manager of operations and sales for A to Z. "Those were the big four in those days."
More than 40 years later, a lot has changed, including management, location, sales and inventory.
Lindberg's children operate A to Z, which has grown to include more than 40 employees. ...
