Article: CBMM completes expansion.

The Brazilian niobium and ferroniobium producer, Companhia Brasileira de Metalurgia e Mineracao (CBMM), has completed a major US$78 million expansion at its mine at Araxa in Minas Gerais, raising capacity from 50,000 t to 84,000 t/y of niobium concentrates. According to the company, which is owned 55.18% by Brazil's Moreira Salles family and 44.82% by Molycorp of the US, the expansion is designed to preserve world supply and ensure price stability for the next ten years.
