At retail and in restaurants, consumers know they're buying U.S. product
A new U.S. farm-raised catfish seal developed by The Catfish Institute will make it easier for consumers to distinguish domestic product from other species of catfish, particularly less-expensive imports.
"We want to let consumers know that what they're getting is U.S. farm-raised catfish," says TCI President Henry Gantz. "We really needed a common seal."
The seal -- a scaled-down version of the TCI logo -- guarantees that domestic catfish farmers and processors meet the industry's quality standards and have successfully completed the Food and Drug Administration's HACCP ...
