I'm pleased to write that you responded in large numbers to our Readers Poll for the year 2000. What's more, to our collective relief, the results show plenty of common ground between those who read FILM COMMENT and those who write and edit it. Turn to page 21 for the results.
We invited you to share your thoughts not only on the past year in films but also on the magazine itself. And we were happy with the outcome: most of you seem to like the new FILM COMMENT. We've changed in the past year, and we knew it wouldn't please everyone. But as one reader put it, we "don't see movies as a product but as a valuable art form." That will never change.
