Effective immediately, the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services has lifted the ban on the entry of equines originating from known foot and mouth disease (FMD) countries - as designated by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) - in lieu of the new pre-embarkation requirements set by the USDA. Virginia's restrictions on working dogs remain in effect.
