NEW YORK -- Although accessories account for a relatively small share of total hair care sales, barrettes, claws, headbands and related items remain particularly attractive to retailers due to their popularity among young women.
"A woman's hairstyle is the most versatile part of her overall look," says Goody Products Inc. vice president of marketing Lee Levenson, whose company is a leading global manufacturer of grooming and hair fashion accessories. "Given today's movement toward self-expression, we're finding that teens and women are experimenting with different hair accessories to create their own unique styles."
