WHEN SHOE DESIGNER CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN WAS LOOKING FOR A HOME AWAY FROM HIS HOME IN PARIS. HE FOUND IT ALONG THE BANKS OF THE NILE. NATASHA FRASER-CAVASSONI GOES ALONG FOR THE (CAMEL) RIDE.
As usual, Christian Louboutin is late. To be fair, the shoe designer has just arrived from New York and is trying to make up for his tardiness by calling every five minutes with a progress report of his journey from Charles de Gaulle airport to his flagship in Paris's first arrondissement: "The motorway is superclear.... Oooh, looks like an accident." When he rolls up in an enormous white van that brings the entire street to a standstill, the drama of his entrance is entirely ...
