NEWRY secured a fine victory in front of a large home crowd who could still see them keep their status in Harp Senior League One.
It was also an important match for Banbridge as they had to win by two clear goals to secure Ulster's third place in the All-Ireland play-offs.
The defeat for them means that Cookstown join Instonians and Annadale in the Dublin series.
But it was to be Newry's night, and while they may not be out of the woods yet, they know they may have a play-off themselves to stay in the top flight ...
